DOTSOFT receives “double” recognition from the European Commission for Leading Innovations
Renowned for its smart city solutions offered to LGO in Greece, DOTSOFT S.A. is also making significant strides in healthcare with its latest contributions to the EU-funded Horizon 2020 BD4QoL project. Recently, the European Commission, through its Innovation Radar initiative, has nominated two of DOTSOFT’s innovations, highlighting their potential in transforming cancer survivor care.
The first innovation by DOTSOFT S.A. is an AI-driven chatbot designed to assist survivors of Head and Neck Cancer. Leveraging advanced natural language processing and machine learning algorithms, the chatbot interacts with patients to help manage post-treatment symptoms and encourage healthier behaviors. Acting as a digital health assistant, it offers personalized support and collects data to improve ongoing care strategies, enhancing the survivors' quality of life.
The second innovation by DOTSOFT S.A. features mobile app modules that unobtrusively gather data to assess the quality of life of cancer survivors. These apps seamlessly integrate into users’ daily routines, tracking physical and emotional health indicators without intrusion. The collected data is analyzed to monitor treatment effects and early signs of health deterioration, supporting proactive healthcare and tailored interventions.
Both of these significant innovations, which recognized DOTSOFT as “Key Innovator”, were analyzed under the Innovation Radar, a platform that identifies high-potential innovations from EU-funded projects, aiming to make them visible and accessible to the public and connect innovators with potential investors and markets.
The BD4QoL project is enriched by a consortium of leading healthcare and cancer treatment centers in Europe, academic institutions, and corporations like IBM Ireland (that has been identified as a Key Innovator for 15 EU-funded innovations), exemplifying a robust multidisciplinary approach to healthcare innovation. This collaboration underscores the project’s alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 3 of the United Nations, which focuses on promoting "Good Health and Well-being" for all ages.
At the forefront of these innovative efforts is DOTSOFT’s “Innovation Start Hub”, the Research and Development Department of the company committed to pushing technological boundaries. "Both our recognitions from the European Commission through the Innovation Radar are a testament to our commitment to innovation and our capability to merge smart city solutions with health tech", stated DOTSOFT’s CEO, Mr. Anastasios Manos.
With these accolades, DOTSOFT continues to reinforce its mission to harness technology for improving life quality across diverse sectors, ensuring its position as a pivotal player in both the smart city and healthcare markets.
